Telegraph Herald, Dubuque, Iowa, Friday, January 16, 2004: Guttenberg, Iowa --- Elmer Frederick Schaub, 91, of Guttenberg, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at the Guttenberg Care Center. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, with the Rev. Harold McMillin officiating. Burial will be in the Guttenberg City Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 207 S. First St., Guttenberg. Mr. Schaub was a truck driver. He was born on Nov. 22, 1912, on the family farm near Garber, son of the late Frederick and Anna (Horstman) Schaub. He married Sylvia Hammond on June 3, 1942, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Elkport. He enjoyed woodworking. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia; a daughter, Diane (Gene) Loeffelholz, of New Vienna; a son, Fred (Brenda) Schaub, of Guttenberg; five grandchildren, Jeff Loeffelholz, Diana Loeffelholz, Cheri Henderson and Stephanie and Michelle Schaub; and three great-grandchildren, Ben, TJ and Elizabeth.
