El Dorado News-Times, El Dorado, Arkansas, Wednesday, June 4, 2014: Marie S. Kirkpatrick, 98, of El Dorado, and formerly of Magnolia, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014. She was born Dec. 2, 1915, in Goldonna, La., to Willie and Minnie (Thompson) Saucer. Marie was the proud mother of nine children and dearly loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to raising a family, she also worked many years for Firestone. She was just a few years shy of living an entire century, and during this time lost all of her siblings. Marie lived the last few years of her life in El Dorado with her daughter and primary caregiver Janis. She had a very personal relationship with the Lord and wanted to share her experiences with everyone. She will continue to be loved and missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey Kirkpatrick; one son, Timothy Kirkpatrick; one daughter, Barbara Ann Kirkpatrick; and out-lived her brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include five daughters, Patsy Ray and her husband, Johnny, of Texarkana, Texas, Sandra Lucius and her husband, Don, of DeRidder, La., Leona Massey and her husband, Henry, of Chidester, Janis Kirkpatrick of El Dorado and Joy Giovanni and her husband, T-Boy, of Lumberton, Miss.; two sons, Bill Kirkpatrick and his wife, Laura, of Magnolia and Mike Kirkpatrick and his wife, Brenda, of Jacksonville, Texas; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; extended family and a host of friends. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Bailey Funeral Home in Magnolia. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at United Pentecostal Church with Bro.
