Jewell County Monitor, 21 May 1903, A Family Reunion, Front page: Sunday, May 17, the newly finished and furnished residence of our townsman, J. W. Fulton, was thrown open to receive and welcome his wife's people who reside in Jewell county--"descendants of the tribe of Moody"--with a few special friends, were royally feasted at a spread that would satisfy the hunger, taste and desires of a chronic epicurean. The tribe of "Moody," when all are assembled on the reservation, are extensive and will compare favorably with any other tribe on the reservation of Jewell. While our friend, Fulton, thought something possibly would have to be done to pacify the braves and head men of the tribe for breaking in without bidding and carrying off the flower of the tribe, he undoubtedly found the way to consolidate and pacify any who felt inclined to put on the paint, dig up an old rusty hatchet, or have a ghost dance. Your correspondent is glad to be able to say--for he was there--that the tribe of "Moody" is becoming civilized and will continue to improve when it adds to its strength and power, additions like our host of whom we write. Possibly your readers may not be familiar with a part of the facts, so will enlighten them. For two years past a neighbor of Mr. Fulton's (known generally as Judge McRoberts) had been fortunate in having one of the tribe of "Moody" to look after his wigwam, cook his meat to a queen's taste and adorn the surroundings. She seemed to have broken away from the "Moody" reservation and was fancy free, when in an unguided moment, the Judge, with feelings of sorrow for his neighbor, Fulton, invited him to his wigwam to dine. To guard against accidents he had also invited Big Chief Charley, with a goodly number of the tribe, including that man Smith, who made a raid on the tribe and stole an honored member. Everything passed off pleasantly; all praised the feast. The Judge thought himself a lucky man, but lo! that feast did it. It was the undoing of the Judge--his neighbor's heart had been reached, the paint was put on and a siege declared against the Judge's wigwam and was fully maintained until the Judge unconditionally surrendered on May the 12th, at 8:30 by the clock p.m., when his neighbor from off the hill, assisted by that hanger of the "Moody" tribe, Smith, caused him in his own wigwam to join them in the holy wedlock of civilized marriage, and at 9 at night (when he thought the half civilized inhabitants like Warner, Phil, Bob Geronimo, Sile and a host of others that were seeking trouble and had been known to jump this part of the reservation in times past) he gathered his neighbor's housekeeper under one wing and her brood under the other and climbed the hill, since which time he looks down on his neighbor and whistles and sings. If you want to be happy go break into the "Moody" tribe. This from one who gathered the test of this story from reading the Advocate.

On the 1910 U. S. Census of Mankato, Center Township, Jewell Co., Kansas, taken on 28 April, John W. Fulton appears with his wife Olive A, Son Benjamin age 21, daughter Alice age 3, step daughters, Ora M. Ames and Vesta F. Ames. Also in the household are 2 male boarders.
On the 1915 Kansas census of Mankato, Jewell Co., Kansas, Olive Fulton and her daughters Alice Fulton age 8, and Ora and Fay Ames.
On the 1920 U. S. Census of Scotts Bluff, Scotts Bluff Co., Nebraska, Olive Fulton is a housekeeper in the Ostenburg family. Her daughter, Alice Fulton age 13, is listed as roomer.
