Farmington Daily Times, Farmington, New Mexico, Sunday, June 16, 1974, Page 14, Col. 4: Aztec Man Victim of Accident. Albuquerque, N. M. (AP)--- An 88 year old Aztec man, Frank Rucker, died from massive head injuries received in an automobile accident on New Mexico 44 near the Zia Indian Pueblo, the state police said. A police spokesman said Rucker was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's Hospital in Albuquerque Friday afternoon. The accident occurred at 2 p.m. Friday. The spokesman said the 1969 Pontiac driven by Rucker struck a 1972 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Epifanio Montoya at the entrance to the Zia Indian Pueblo on New Mexico 44. The spokesman said Montoya was attempting to make a left hand turn at the pueblo entrance when his truck was struck in the right rear by the car driven by Rucker. Both vehicles were traveling east. The spokesman said a piece of metal from the truck flew through the rear window of Rucker's car striking him in the head. Rucker's wife, Bessie, 81, was listed in fair condition Saturday at St. Joseph's with multiple injuries including a fractured wrist, fractured ribs and facial injuries. Police said Montoya was not injured. Funeral services for Rucker are pending at Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington.
