Memorials: First Baptist Church of Lancaster, in lieu of flowers. Art was born July 7, 1922 in Gatesville. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a longtime employee of Ben E. Keith Co. Art was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Etta Gilmer; and first wife, Billie Gilmer. Survivors: His wife, Lois Gilmer; daughter, Karen McGoldrick and husband, Prentis; grand-children, Melissa, Rebecca and Suzanne; stepchildren, Tim Hitt and wife, Deann, and Holly Niner and husband, Jay; stepgrandchildren, Jayson, Hanna, Hayden and Hunter; and brothers, Bill Gilmer and wife, Pat, and Joe Gilmer and wife, Betty.Byrum Funeral Home, Lancaster, 972-227-2121.
