Posted at findagrave.com: Aden Edward Ham, 86, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, April 6, 2008, in Alton. He was born in Rombauer, Mo., June 21, 1921, the son of the late Eddie C. and Lela J. (Agee) Ham. He married the former Donnie Mae Gillean on Feb. 14, 1946, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She survives. Prior to moving to Alton in 1955, he farmed in the Rombauer area. He worked at Laclede Steel Company and retired in 1983. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tony Eugene and Patty Ham of Midland, Texas; Allen Dean of Athens, Ill., and Rick and Rita Ham of Decatur, Ill.; five grandchildren and two spouses, Stephen and Amy Ham of Festus, Mo., Rachelle and Chris Sumrall of Coahoma, Texas, Dan Ham of Carbondale, Ill., Adam Ham of Decatur and Matt Ham of Champaign, Ill.; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Micah and Katelyn Ham of Festus, Mo., and Savannah and Sicily Sumrall of Coahoma; two sisters, Fern Gillean of Alton and Dorothy Doty of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Leola Ham of Alton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie; an infant brother, Orville; and a brother, Ivan Gerhard Ham.Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, for services at 10 a.m. at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Chapel in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
