The Spokesman-Review, Spokane, Washington, Saturday, October 21, 1995: Service for Wayne Jasper Chastain, 90, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Grace Baptist Church with burial to follow at 3:30 p.m. at Spring Canyon Cemetery in Grand Coulee. Ball & Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements. Born in Milton-Freewater, Ore., Mr. Chastain died Wednesday. He graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla. He had worked for the Department of Agriculture in Milton-Freewater for 21 years and was the manager of the Inland Empire Pea Growers Association in Spokane for many years. He had also worked for the federal government in Coulee Dam and returned to Spokane six years ago. He was a member of the Spokane and Coulee Dam Rotary clubs, The Spokane Club, Grace Baptist Church and Coulee Dam Community Church. His first wife, of 52 years, Lucile Chastain, died in 1987. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Chastain; two daughters, Ellen Davis of Portland and Judy Chastain of Spokane; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church.
