Obituary published Aug. 12 and 14, 1988 in the Wisconsin State Journal: Madison---Thelma M. Hill, age 85, formerly of Maple Bluff, died on August 11, 1988, at the Middleton Village Nursing Home. She was born on October 11, 1902, in McFarland Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Minnie Melaas. She married Charles Franklin Hill on August 25, 1934. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church for over 70 years; and was active in the Ladies Aid Society where she was treasurer for many years. She was a 1926 graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a degree in art education. Thelma was also a volunteer at Madison General Hospital in the gift shop for many years; and was on the board of directors of Vita Plus Corporation for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Kari-Ellen, and her son-in-law Al Cole of Madison; and three grandchildren, Charles and Anthony, both of Madison, and Rebecca of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Hill, in 1963. Funeral services will be held at the Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr., at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 1988, with the Reverend Brad Homan officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services on Saturday, at the Gunderson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, or to the senders choice.
