Mr. Herbert was a native of Alexander, N.D. He had lived in Modesto since 1976. He had retired after a 40-year career as a carpenter. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1940 to 1945. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Herbert of Plymouth. Burial will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella. Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
