Milton Winslow was born in Grant County, Indiana, Dec 23, 1853; died Dec 29, 1918, being 65 years and 6 days old. He lived in Indiana until young manhood, then came west in 1878, living in Kearney county several years; was married to Viola May Miller Oct 9, 1881; moved to Gosper county in 1885. To this union five children were born-Bertha, Ray, Marlie, Tressie and Lynn--all living and in attendance at the funeral.
He was converted in 1900 at Rev. M. B. Carman's first revival meeting. He lived an upright, honest life. Moved to Bertrand in 1911, where he has since resided. Almost four years ago he was afflicted with a disease which proved incurable. Being confined to his chair for weeks before his death, he was a patient and cheerful sufferer to the last, and always a kind and loving husband and father. One brother and two nephews were in attendance at the funeral. The services were held at the home Monday evening at 7:30, conducted by Rev. A. G. Swanson, M. E. pastor. Owing to stormy weather and blockaded roads, interment was not made until Thursday, at the Elwood cemetery. 10 Jan 1919, Bertrand Herald, Bertrand, Phelps Co, Nebraska.
