She was born on May 17, 1912 near Berryville, Arkansas. On February 23, 1935, she married Max Swall in Waco, Texas. She had been a resident of the Roseburg area since 1945. She had owned Drive Inn Restaurant south of Roseburg. Survivors include her husband; one sister, Betty Black of Boise, Idaho; and two brothers, Clifford Qualls and John Qualls, both of Twin Falls, Idaho. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses with Rev. Charles Allison officiating. Private cremation will follow. The family requests donations in her memory be made to American Cancer Society.
