Nevada Appeal, Carson City, Nevada, Thursday, January 11, 2001: Frances A. Hosier, 84, a Carson City resident for the past 20 years, died Jan. 10, 2001, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Oct. 7, 1916, in North Dakota to John and Carrie Moore Duff. Before moving to Carson City, she lived in North Dakota. Mrs. Hosier was a homemaker. She loved to knit and crochet. She worked ranches and traveled when she was younger as a ranch hand and cook. She was very independent and a loving mother. Among her survivors are her sons Robert of Emmett, Idaho , David of Ely and Robbin; daughter Linda Argall of Carson City; brother Homer Duff of Hawthorne; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A private service will be at a later date. FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
