Obituary from Oroville Mercury, November 17, 1942: Old Resident Passes Here. Mrs. Ida Kirkpatrick, 70, of 2445 Bird street, a native of Meadow Valley and a lifelong resident of Plumas and Butte counties, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the county hospital. She formerly was a resident of Berry Creek. A widow, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Hugo Peterson of Seattle, Mrs. Alice Ferguson of Sand Point, Ida., Mrs. Frances Riegert of Santa Cruz and Mrs. Adeline Graham of Thermalito. Funeral arrangements had not been completed Tuesday afternoon, but Hamilton and Riley in charge said burial would be in Berry Creek cemetery.

November 20, 1942: Ida Kirkpatrick Rites Are Held. Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Kirkpatrick, who died last Tuesday, were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Hamilton and Riley's. The rites were conducted by the Rev. Mr. C. C. Champlin and Mrs. L. H. Wasley was organist. Ed Dallas, William Fitch, H. Novak and Gus Reich were casket bearers. Burial was in Berry Creek cemetery.

Ida [Foster] Kirkpatrick was 1/2 Maidu Indian, a native tribe of California located in the Chico-Butte-Yuba Environs and in 1910 was living on the Reservation with her family.
