The Current Local, Van Buren, Missouri, April 2, 1936, Front Page, Col. 3: Mrs. Nora Ham (nee) Sutherlin entered into rest March 25, 1936 at her home in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the wife to the late W. D. Ham of Ellsinore and mother of Otho Brown, John, Amiel, Otis, and Gaylord Ham and Oleta Lemons, all of St. Louis and step-mother of Earl Ham of Van Buren and Louisa Boyer of Ellsinore and was a sister of Wm. Sutherlin of Ellsinore. She was a member of the Methodist church at Ellsinore and lived a life that was above reproach. Besides her many relatives she leaves a host of friends to mourn her lost. Interment was at Ellsinore March 28, 1936.
Under Ellsinore News: The body of Mrs. W. D. Ham, who died in St. Louis Thursday was brought here Saturday and funeral services were held at the Methodist church by Rev. H. C. Whitcanack. Burial took place that afternoon at the Sutherlin Cemetery. Mrs. Ham formerly lived at Ellsinore and was a sister to W. N. Sutherlin of this place. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ham of Van Buren were here Saturday to attend the funeral of Earl's stepmother, Mrs. W. D. Ham. Prof. Roy Sutherlin of Frankclay was called here Saturday to attend the funeral of his aunt Mrs. W. D. Ham.
