The Herald, Los Angeles, California, July 30, 1896, Image 7: The coroner's Jury in the case of W.L. Bogart of Tustln returned a verdict that deceased came to his death from heart failure or rupture of a blood vessel, caused by great exertion. Mr. Bogart was an employee of the S.P. R. R,, and when the evening train came in caught hold of the platform ailing and swung himself on the platform and sat down. When the train stopped at the depot, two blocks distant, he fell forward, slightly cutting his forehead but not crushing it as at first reported. The train which he boarded was running quite fast and it is thought the jerk ruptured a blood vessel. Dr. Dillingham testified at the Inquest that Bogart had some symptoms of heart trouble, although he had never treated him for that. The deceased was 47 years old and leaves a large family of motherless children, Mrs. Bogart, the mother, having died last September.

A phone call on March 30, 2012 and a search of the Santa Ana Cemetery located at www.occemeterydistrict.com failed to locate the burial of William. His wife Laura is buried there.
