On the 1900 U. S. Census of Washington Township, Crawford Co., Kansas, Susan Haynes is living with her son George and his family. Susan is a widow. She is the mother of 11, 8 of whom are currently living.

Obituary of Mrs. Haynes. Mrs. Susan Haynes, aged 84 years, died today noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter McAdams, of 208 East Tenth street, of dropsy. She had been bedfast from the disease since last February, but her death came rather sudden and unexpected while sitting propped up in her bed. She left eight children, all grown, viz: Mrs. M. Geary and Mrs. McAdams, of this city; Mrs. Florence Perish, of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Hiram Taylor, of Washington, and Mrs. Mary Spillman of Noel, Missouri; Houston Haynes of Girard, and George Haynes, who lives on a farm north of this city.
