The Tennessean, Nashville, Tennessee, December 26, 1936: Kirkpatrick---Friday morning Dec. [ ]5, 1936, at 4:30 o'clock at the home of his son, E. L. Kirkpatrick, 607 North Fourteenth Street, James Monroe Kirkpatrick, age 86 years, survived by four sons, J. S., R. B., E. L. and R. G. Kirkpatrick; one daughter, Mrs. DeWitt Carter, all of this city. The remains are at the home as above where funeral will be held this (Saturday) morning, Dec. 26, at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by Dr. E. P. Anderson, pastor of the Tulip Street M. E. Church. His sons, J. S., R. B., E. L. and R. G. Kirkpatrick; grandsons, J. S. Jr., and E. L. Kirkpatrick, Jr., and son-in-law, DeWitt Carter, will serve as pallbearers. Interment Springhill Cemetery, Marshall Funeral Directors in charge. Phone 6-7115.
