On the 1900 U. S. Census of Fremont, Dodge Co., Nebraska, Garret Toenjes appears with his wife Earnstein and children Theodore H. W., Earnstine W., Paul G., Carl, Lena M., John, Martha G., Walter, Olga and Clara. Also in the household is his father-in-law John Meuschke, age 75. Garret is a minister. Earnestein is the mother of 13, 11 who are currently living.
