Obituary of Lela Kirkpatrick, from the Banner Press newspaper, Marble Hill, Mo., [Friday], February 10, 1972. Mrs. Joseph William Kirkpatrick, 53 years old of Lutesville, died Friday in a hospital in Cape Girardeau. She had been in ill health for sometime. Mrs. Kirkpatrick, the former Miss Lela Jones, was born September 22, 1918 at Delta, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Jones. On November 30, 1963 she married Mr. Kirkpatrick and he survives. She was a member of Union Grove General Baptist Church at Bloomfield. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a stepson Russell Kirkpatrick of Glen Allen; a stepdaughter Mrs. Donna Joene Powell of Marquand; two brothers, Leslie Jones of Advance and Ivan Jones of Dexter; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Dunn of Lutesville, Mrs. Flora Chapman of Delta and Mrs. Imogene Mungle of Cape Girardeau and five step-grandchildren. Services were held Sunday at Baker Funeral Home in Lutesville. Burial was in Dry Creek Cemetery near Lutesville.
