Pahrump Valley Times, Pahrump, Nevada, Friday, December 17, 2004---Man ejected from car; dies on highway. A man was discovered dead Tuesday morning off of Highway 160 after his car rolled off of the roadway. According to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Angie Chavera, the time of accident is still unknown. As the sun came up Tuesday morning, a driver spotted the vehicle in the desert and called NHP [Nevada Highway Patrol].The accident occurred near mile marker 28, three miles north of Spring Mountain in Clark County. The driver, identified by his sister as Donald Dean Ackland, 68, was ejected from the vehicle and found underneath the car when patrolmen arrived on scene. Chavera said the man probably would have survived the accident if he had been wearing his seatbelt. Chavera encourages anyone who saw the accident to call NHP at (702) 486-4100 so they can gather further information on the accident.
