Verlyn Joseph Senjem

OSLO -- The funeral for Verlyn Joseph Senjem will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Evanger Lutheran Church in Sargeant, with the Rev. Todd Hawkins officiating. Interment will be in Evanger Lutheran Cemetery. Mr. Senjem, 78, of Oslo, died Thursday (Sept. 14, 2006) at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester. He was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Dodge County and was a lifelong resident of Oslo. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Atlanta. On Dec. 31, 1965, he married Karen Olive Witter in Homestead Memorial United Brethren Church in Rochester. He farmed in the Oslo area and worked as a school bus driver for the Hayfield School District. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Mark) Munson of Kasson and Victoria (Robert) Moen of Oslo; two sons, Raymond (Sherri) of Oslo and Timothy of Byron; 10 grandchildren; a sister, LouVain Boettner of Moorhead, Minn.; and two brothers, Robert of Kasson and Donald (Donna) of Hayfield; He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother and a sister. Friends and family may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield and an hour before the service Tuesday at the church.
