Mason City Globe Gazette, Mason City, Iowa, September 23, 1931, Page 2, Col. 1: Dr. Wood Dies At Marble Rock. Lingering Illness Cause of Death; Leaves Wife and 7 Children. Marble Rock, Sept. 21---Dr. Asa Wood, veterinary surgeon, for many years a resident of Marble Rock, died yesterday morning at his home on South Main street. He suffered a lingering illness. Mr. Wood was out driving his car up until a few days ago, altho (sic) for some times he was in poor health. The latter part of last week he became much worse. Mr. Wood was born in June 1854. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. William Prangley, Shell Rock; Mrs. Mae Thornton, Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. C. J. Castle, Charles City, and four sons, James Erie, Pa.; Amos, Waterloo; Leo, Marble Rock, and Joseph, Austin, Minn. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
