Found at Find A Grave.com: Elva Ann Freeman, 92, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010, at the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington. She was born December 10, 1917, at Perth, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur Benjamin and Cora Ellen "Nellie" (Banks) Clason. She grew up in the Mulhall, Oklahoma area. On December 8, 1935, she and Raymond A. Reichardt were married at the Christian Church in Burlington, Kansas, and they would be the parents of three children. She and Raymond worked on farms throughout the state, and in 1948 they moved to Burlington, where they owned and operated the Reichardt Café. In the 1960s they managed the Rock Creek Country Club at Burlington. Elva then worked for many years as a cook for the Burlington schools, where she was especially known and loved for her cinnamon rolls and homemade chicken and noodles. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Burlington, where she was very active in the United Methodist Women, serving funeral dinners, and quilting. She enjoyed working on quilts not only for the church bazaar, but also for her grandchildren. Raymond preceded her in death on November 20, 1981. On March 5, 1983, she married Harold Lee Freeman at the United Methodist Church in Burlington. He also preceded her, on July 6, 1997. She later was the companion of Max Caldwell, who passed away November 4, 2007. Her death came on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Coffey County Hospital. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Margaret Rosine and Elsie Shrimplin McReynolds; a brother, Arlie Clason; a son-in-law, Randall Schif; and two grandchildren, Bricie Rae Cole and Kevin Keith Schif. She is survived by a daughter, Vera Laverne Smith and husband Merle of Burlington; two sons, Raymond A. Reichardt, Jr., and wife Elizabeth of Burlingame, and Clason Leroy Reichardt and wife Sandra of Hoyt; seven grandchildren, Maj. Chris Reichardt and wife Sherri of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Darrell Reichardt and wife Laura of Topeka, Darci Stockman and husband Jared of Hoyt, Randee Farmer and husband Michael of Augusta, Sheree Damashek and husband Terry of Burlington, Kristee Strawder of Burlington, and Robert Schif and wife Jean of Derby; twenty-one great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 29, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in Burlington. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.
