Grigsby was born Oct. 28, 1912 in Checotah to Jim and Lizabeth (Brewer) Grigsby, married Erma Gale Cowan in July of 1945 at Fort Smith, Arkansas, and died Nov. 12, 2000 in Eufaula. Services were Nov. 16 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Checotah followed by burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Jimmie Gale Montgomery of Eufaula and Iris Ann Edwards of Checotah; a sister, Thelma Sisco of Texas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in May of 2000; a son, Jerry F. Wood, and sister and a brother, Jim.
