Carlisle Democrat, Carlisle, Indiana, Friday, August 9, 1878: Mr. Wm. Riggs, at one time a resident of Carlisle, but who has for the last year or so lived at Stinesville, this state, died in the latter place on Monday last and was brought here Wednesday for burial. Mrs. Martyn is a sister of the deceased, and the funeral took place from her residence. Mr. Riggs' death resulted from consumption, and he leaves a wife and two small children to mourn his loss.
