Times-Picayune, New Orleans, Louisiana, June 29, 1985, Page 33: Kenner Judge Clifton Adcox dies after long illness. Clifton A. Adcox, a prominent New Orleans area lawyer and magistrate judge in Kenner, died Friday at Mercy Hospital after a long illness. He was 45. Mr. Adcox was appointed magistrate judge for Kenner in 1975 and served under Mayors Joseph Yenni, Larry Hooper and Aaron Broussard. In 1983, Mr. Adcox made an unsuccessful bid for justice of the peace in the 95th Ward of Jefferson Parish, losing in the runoff to longtime incumbent Anthony Cristina Jr. Mr. Adcox was relieved from his duties as Kenner Municipal judge last year because of his illness. He was a senior partner in the New Orleans firm of Wiedemann and Fransen and a member of the Jefferson Parish and Louisiana bar associations, the New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel and the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association. A native of Columbia, Miss., Mr. Adcox attended Louisiana State University and Loyola University where he received a law degree in 1969. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Ruddell Adcox, two sons, David Clifton Adcox II and Stephen E. Adcox; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Clifton Adcox. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 6226 St. Charles Ave.
