The Flint Journal, Flint, Michigan, Saturday, October 21, 2000: FARROW, Roman Marion "Romie" - Age 72, of Gaines, died Thursday, October 19, 2000 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 1PM Monday, October 23, 2000 at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Fr. Gene Geromel officiating. Burial in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, where a military graveside service will be held under the auspices of Swartz Creek VFW Post #3720. Visitation will be held 1-9 PM Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to McLaren Hospice. Mr. Farrow was born January 24, 1928 in Washington County, AR, the son of William J. and Annie Parilee (Morrow) Farrow and had lived in the Swartz Creek and Gaines area since 1964. Mr. Farrow was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors V8 Engine Plant and was a member of UAW Local #659. He married Lee Grubaugh in 1987 in Swartz Creek. Surviving are: wife, Lee; 3 children, Carmil Bond of Fenton, Mona Farrow of Swartz Creek, Wade and wife Cindy Farrow of Bancroft; 2 step-children, John Jewell of Roscommon, Valerie Jewell of Gaines; 4 grandsons, Darrell, Randy and wife Jamie, Luke and Nicholas; sister, Melba Bruner of Gaines; 4 brothers, Manford Farrow of Missouri, Rex Farrow of California, Hershel Farrow of Arkansas, Joe Farrow of Manton, MI; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Farrow was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Farrow in 1985. A special thank you to McLaren Hospice.
