"Uncle "Dick" was a lawyer, and had a withered arm from childhood polio. Dick was greatly loved, but never married because of his arm. He was in his 30s. My Grandmother, once a Methodist , had become a Christian Scientist, and he got sick but they did not call a doctor. "
Notice in the Atchison Daily Globe, May 28, 1946: Lawyer Dies, Wichita, May 28--Richard E. Kirkpatrick, 31, Wichita lawyer died suddenly at his home yesterday. He obtained his law degree at Washburn university, Topeka.
