Born in Clubb on April 9, 1928, he was the son of Lawrence and Lola Parton. Surviving are his mother, Lola Parton of Denver, Colo.; three brothers, Carl Parton of Aurora, Colo., Roy and Jerry Parton both of Denver, Colo.; three sisters, Nell Montgomery of Patterson, Kathleen Gillmore of Denver, Elaine Couger of Aurora, Colo. Preceding him in death was his father, Lawrence Parton. He was of Baptist faith. graveside services were at 1 p.m. Dec. 6, at the New Prospect Cemetery, Silva. Rev. William Morrow officiated. Pallbearers were Ira Bennett, Lavern Daves, Paul Bridges, Willis Costephens, Bryan Loveless, and George Ploesser.
