Wayne County Journal Banner, Piedmont, Missouri, April 15, 1993: Roman Meloy, 93, died April 6, 1993, in the Lucy Lee Skilled Nursing at Poplar Bluff. Born Jan. 4, 1900, in Greenville, he was the son of the late Cyrus and Laura Meloy. He was united in marriage to Eula Allen on Jan. 25, 1931, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 26, 1957. Survivors include seven sons, Willard Meloy, Latham, Mo., Robert Meloy, Greenville, Marvin Meloy, Coldwater, Don Meloy, Centerville, Herman Meloy, Naylor, Edward Meloy, Clubb, Loyd Meloy, Imperial; four daughters, Zella Finley, Bridgeton, Shirley Meloy, St. Charles, Freda Jacks, St. Louis, Patsy Rainwater, Centerville; 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Sherman Meloy, and two sisters, Annie Berry and Minnie Meloy. He was a farmer and was of the Baptist faith. The funeral was at 2 p.m. April 9 in the Ruegg Funeral Home at Greenville. Rev. Dan Ross officiated. Music was by Glendell Twidwell, soloist and Daphne Hershey, pianist. Pallbearers were Steve Meloy, Paul Meloy, Roy Meloy, Herman Meloy, Jim Jones, Patrick McArthur. Burial was in the New Prospect Cemetery at Silva.
