Christopher Alfred Kenyon Jr. April 1, 1929 - April 3, 2012. Resident of Walnut Creek. Chris Kenyon, beloved husband, caregiver, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully at home after a short illness at the age of 83. Jean, his dear wife of 57 years, followed him on April 28 at the age of 79, after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Born on April 1, 1929, Chris was a native of Phoenix, Arizona. Artistic from an early age, he attended the Art Center in Los Angeles, where he met Jean Simpson, a fellow student. She was a native of San Diego, born there on March 16,1933. Chris was a well regarded commercial illustrator, working in the San Francisco advertising industry for 35 years. He was twice president of the San Francisco Society of Illustrators and taught at the Academy of Art University. Jean was an expert horsewoman and mother of their two children. They lived in Walnut Creek for 45 years, where they built their own home. Chris went on to build three other homes, as well as two airplanes after he retired. A devoted and loving couple, they will be greatly missed by their son, Kirk, daughter Lisa Blair, her husband Steven, grandsons Tristan and Devan Blair and many dear friends and relatives.
