Long Beach Press Telegram, Long Beach, California, Saturday, February 10, 1951, Page 5, Col. 2: Last Rites Today for F. W. Herbert. A private funeral service for Frank W. Herbert, 77, one-time member of the Long Beach Harbor Commission, was scheduled for today in Alhambra. Mr. Herbert died Thursday of a heart ailment. He resided at 7178 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood. He was a member of the harbor commission from Sept. 1939, to July 8, 1943. He resigned two years after having started a second term. He was in the real estate business here for 19 years. He was born in Minnesota. Survivors are the widow, Jessica M.; daughter, Mrs. Vivian McNutt, South San Francisco; a son, Sidney, San Bernardino; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
