On the World War I draft registration Clarence is unemployed and living with his mother in Erie, New York. He states he is disqualified by having pulmonary tuberculosis. He registered at Chattaragus, September 12, 1918.

On the 1920 U. S. Census of the Town of Towanda, Village of Kenmore, Erie Co., New York, Eva M. Hosier, age 57 and a widow appears with her children Clara A. age 32, who works as stenographer in an office and Clarence age 19, who works as a machine operator in a factory. Eva is a dressmaker.

On the 1930 U. S. Census of Dallas, Dallas Co., Texas, Clarence E. Hosier and his wife Viola appear. Clarence was born in New York. He is superintendent of a gas company.

Obituary from the San Antonio Express, Friday January 16, 1981: Mr. C. E. Hosier, age 80, of 208 Inslee Avenue, died Wednesday January 14, 1981. He was a member of Madison Square Presbyterian Church; Tarrant Masonic Lodge No. 942, A. F. & A. M., of Fort Worth, Texas; and Blue Bonnet Chapter No. 782, O.E.S. Mr. Hosier was associated with Union Carbide, Inc. for over 40 years. Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Viola M. Hoser; Col. Robert and Margaret Wall, and many other nieces and nephews. Service Saturday Morning at 9 o'clock at Madison Square Presbyterian Church, Dr. William Lytle officiating. Those who desire, may send memorial contributions to Ellen Bissland Fund, Madison Square Presbyterian Church, or the charity of their choice. Interment in Sunset Memorial Park.
