Obituary from Douglas County Herald, Thursday, April 20, 1939: Former Ava Girl Dies at Hudson, Wisconsin. Word has been received here of the death on March 2 in Hudson, Wisconsin, of Viola Oline Newville, 17 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Newville of Hudson. The family formerly lived at Ava. The girl born March 8, 1922 at Ava, had been ill the past four years. Three years ago her parents took her and went north, hoping the change would do her good. For a while she improved, but she took ill again last July. She is survived by her parents, three sisters, Beulah, Esther and Zelpha, all of Winnebago, Minnesota, three brothers, Paul of Winnebago, Albert of Elmdale, Kansas and Perry of Ava; and a grandfather, A. H. Newville, of Ava. She was a member of the Church of God here. Funeral services and burial were at Hudson.
