Times-Picayune, New Orleans, Louisiana, Friday, January 25, 1985, Page 21, Col. 1 & 2: A memorial service is scheduled Friday for Richard West Freeman, a New Orleans businessman and philanthropist who had been chairman of the board of Delta Air Lines and Louisiana Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Ltd. The service will be at 9:30 a.m. at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church, St. Charles Avenue and State Street. Burial will be private. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Freeman died Wednesday night at Ochsner Foundation Hospital of long-term heart and circulatory ailments. He was 72. [A lengthy list of his business and civic achievements is being redacted]. Mr. Freeman, who was born Jan. 4, 1913, in New Orleans, attended Isidore Newman School, Culver Military Academy and Tulane University, where he received a bachelor of business administration degree in 1934. Survivors include his wife, Montine McDaniel Freeman; two sons, Richard W. Freeman, Jr. and Louis M. Freeman, a daughter, Tina Freeman; two sister, Rosa Freeman Keller and Mary Freeman Wisdom, and seven grandchildren.
