Kirkpatrick proprietor of the Garden City Transfer Company died at his home 53 South Second street at 11:40 a.m. this morning. His death was not unexpected. Some time in July Mr. Kirkpatrick fell off his transfer wagon and suffered concussion of the brain. That developed into paralysis. Since then his death has been [unable to read]. He leaves a wife and two sons. The latter have been engaged with their father in the transfer business. Mr. Kirkpatrick was born in Pike county, Illinois, and was 49 years of age. He came to California in 1852, and was a well known and popular citizen. The funeral will take place on Monday at 2:30 p.m., from the family residence on South Second street.
