Obituary from the Warren County Illinois Genealogical Society: Mrs. Earl Kirkpatrick, Sept. 22, 1977: Mrs. Earl Kirkpatrick, 85 , of Roseville died at 8:30 p. m. . Wednesday at Community Memorial Hospital Monmouth. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Clugston Chapel in Macomb, in charge of the Rev. Kenneth Mortonson. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb. Friends may call at Clugston's from 10 a. m. Friday until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established for the American Caner Society. Born Sept. 12, 1892, in Scotland Township in McDonough County, she was the daughter of Samuel E. and Alice Jane (Knight) Purdum. Most of her life was spent in McDonough County, but for the last 20 years she had lived near Roseville. She was a graduate of Teachers College at Macomb and taught kindergarten in Macomb for 22 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Macomb, active in Circle Six of the church, was a member of the American Association of University Women, the Macomb Business and Professional Women's Club, the Warren County Home Extension, and the Retired Teachers Association. She was first married to Fred Pommer, and then on July 29, 1955, she married Earl H. Kirkpatrick, who survives. Also surviving are seven stepchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nina Hamilton of Good Hope; two nieces and two nephews. A brother, Lloyd Purdum, and a half-brother, Charles Purdum, died earlier.
