The Citizen
, Berea, Kentucky, February 19, 1920, Page 8, Cols. 1 & 2: Jackson County News, Bond: The whole Pigeon Roost community has been saddened by the death of Stephen Johnston, who died February 12. He was a good Christian man and a useful citizen, always ready and willing to help in Sunday-school and in all that was up building to the community in which he lived. His presence will be greatly missed by us all, but we feel that God has taken him to a far better Home than this, where there will be no sickness, pain nor death. Mr. Johnston leaves a wife and two little girls, two brothers and seven sisters and a host of friends. "We loved him; yes we loved him, But Angels loved him more, And they have sweetly called him, To yonder shining shore."
