Greene Iowa Register, Greene, Iowa, Wednesday, March 23, 1910, Front Page, Col. 3: Loren Waldo Reynolds, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Reynolds, born in Pleasant Grove township, Floyd county, Iowa, August 1, 1878, was suddenly killed at his post of duty by a wreck* on a fast freight train of the Rock Island road, near Shellsburg, Iowa, Monday morning at 12:30, March 21, 1910. The deceased was married to Miss Maude Shafer, Dec. 31, 1901. From this union four children were born. Bernice Genevieve, Lawrence and Lamoyne, all of whom survive him. He was a member of the K. of P. lodge and also the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Had he lived he would soon have been promoted to the place of conductor. He leaves a broken hearted wife, four dear little children, a sister and a brother and a stricken father and mother and many other relatives and friends. *The same page has a full text of the train wreck.
