Mary Ann Dorenda Harris

Buried next to Mary (Harris) McGlasson: Avo McGlasson & Alta Cleo McGlasson, their daughters. Mary "Polly" Ann (Harris) McGlasson, d/o William & Matilda Harris. On Thursday morning, November 1st, Mrs. M. D. McGlasson, familiarly known as "Polly Ann" answered her Lord's summons to come Home. Although she had been in fast declining health for several weeks her sudden death came as a shock to her family and friends. Mrs. McGlasson was born at Old Columbus, Jackson County. She was the only daughter of William and Matilda Harris. In 1861 she was married to Jasper Green McGlasson. After his death in 1903, she moved with her family to Gainesboro, thence to Cookeville where she has made her home for the past seventeen years. She obeyed the Gospel at an early age and was though out her life a devoted member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by five daughters and two sons: Mrs. Settie Moore, Gamaliel, KY, Mrs. Smith Carver, Gainesboro, Misses Minnie, Avo and Cleo McGlasson, of Cookeville, Jack McGlasson, of Cookeville, and G. Lee McGlasson, of Gainesboro, also by a host of grand children and great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at her home on Washington Avenue Friday at 2 p.m. by Elder W. C. Cooke, assisted by Elder A. W. Dicus. Burial was in the Cookeville Cemetery.
