Mattie Kirkpatrick

Mattie Kirkpatrick was born 30 August 1872 in White County, Arkansas and died 3 September 1905 in the same county. She married Peter Faulk who was born 31 October 1870 in Tipton County, Tennessee, and died 7 April 1907 in White County, Arkansas. The couple had a difficult time of it. Mattie was sick for some time before her death and the family moved in with a grandmother. Shortly after the death of Mattie, Peter died, and the children lived with their uncle John Lewis Kirkpatrick. In about 1916, the eldest daughter, Mary, was married and the two youngest daughters moved in to live with her. The place was El Paso, White County, Arkansas.

Mattie and Peter were married 7 December 1892 and the record is on file at Searcy Courthouse, county seat of White County, Arkansas. Peter was a school teacher and also a farmer with a rather large place. Mattie's parents, John and Sally Kirkpatrick, settled four miles east of El Paso, Arkansas, in 1880. The place was still in the hands of one of John Lewis Kirkpatrick's sons in 1981.

There were five (5) children born of the marriage.
