Martha Araminta Kirkpatrick

Terry, 85, resident of Dallas since 1889 when her husband, who died in 1926, moved here from Collin County to engage in the real estate business, died at 3 am. Sunday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. C. H. Verschoyle, 4931 Live Oak. Mrs. Terry and her husband, who installed and operated in Collin County one of the first steam cotton gins in Texas, came to Texas from Tennessee in 1876. They settled on a farm near the site of the old town of Celina. Later they lived at Plano and McKinney before moving to Dallas. For forty years Mr. and Mrs. Terry lived at 4315 Live Oak, during which time he was active in the real estate business. Upon his death she moved into the home of her daughter. She is survived by the daughter of Dallas; a brother Dr. S. S. Kirkpatrick of Thrall; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm. Monday at the East Dallas Christian Church, Dr. L. N. D. Wells officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will include three grandsons, a nephew, the husband of a granddaughter and a friend of the family. They will be W. Rowe Verschoyle, Hubert Henry Verschoyle, L. R. Verscholyle, Norman C. Welsh, Oliver Kirkpatrick, and Paul C. Gerhart.
