Funeral services were held here Monday afternoon for Robert Lemmon,76, who died at his home early Saturday morning following a lingering illness. Services were held at First Methodist Church and interment was in Union cemetery. Pallbearers were Ivan Rutherford, Carroll Spencer, Murl Rutherford, Clifford Trostic, Dean French and Everett Tague. Honorary pallbearers were Clyde Rose, Clyde Tulliman, Sam Sloss, Roy Cahall, Burl Foresman and Eldon McKibbin.

Obituary--- Robert Lemmon. Robert Lemmon, son of George and Sarah Wright Lemmon was born at Jefferson, Ia., on August the 6th 1878, and passed away at his home in Guthrie Center, Iowa, on May 15th, 1954, at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 9 days. He spent most of his life in and around Guthrie Center, Iowa and engaged in farming and the oil business. On February the 28th 1900, he was united in marriage with Miss May E. Kile at Audubon, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Mrs. Laverne Cameron of Johnstown, Colorado, Mrs. Mary Schlotterheck, who passed away in 1938, and Howard and Gladys who passed away in early childhood.

Mrs. Lemmon passed away on April the 11th, 1936, and on January the 2nd 1944, he was united in marriage with Mrs. Gertrude Black of Guthrie Center, Iowa. Mr. Lemmon was a member of the First Methodist Church and was active in the programs of the church until ill health prevented his attending. The survivors are his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Lemmon, a daughter, Mrs. Luverne Cameron, one grandson, Jack Cameron, of Ottumwa, Iowa, one granddaughter Mary Jane Haskill of Castro Valley, California, three great-grandsons; two brothers, Rev. Sherman Lemmon of Richland, California and Arthur Lemmon of Los Angeles, California. Another brother, Charles passed away in March 1944; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Throckmorton of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Mae Jones of Audubon, Iowa; three step children, Mrs. Mildred Laidley of Boone, Iowa, Mrs. Gretta Grett of Macon, Missouri, and Charles Black of Everett, Washington, There are many other relatives and many friends.
