King, 57, of 218 Westview Drive N died on Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at 8:15 a.m. at his residence in Knoxville, Ill. He was born on Dec. 6, 1948, in Kewanee, Ill., the son of Kenneth and Frances Gemming King. He married Mary Russell on Dec. 26, 1969, in Knoxville, Ill. He later married Deborah George on June 27, 1992, in Galesburg, Ill. She survives of Knoxville, Ill. Also surviving are his sons, Rodney (Angela) King of Victoria, Ill., and Timothy (Melissa) King of Great Lakes, Ill.; his stepsons, Jason (Beth) Flickinger of Dayton, Ohio, and C. Kevin Flickinger of Galesburg, Ill.; his stepdaughters, Kendra (Michael) Betz of Knoxville, Ill., and Dedra (Brad) Mannon of Abingdon, Ill.; two grandchildren; five step grandchildren; his father, Kenneth King of Galesburg, Ill.; and a brother, Mike (Joyce) King of Oneida, Ill. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances King, on Feb. 2, 2006. He was raised and educated in the ROVA School District, attending the Victoria Grade School and graduating from the ROVA High School. He was a professional transport hauler for the last 30 years. He was employed by DCM in Galesburg, Ill., since 2003. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Galesburg, Ill., and its choir and bowling league. He was a member of the Lions Club in Wyoming, Ill. He was active in the Carl Sandburg College Choir, Choral Dynamics and the Barbershop Quartet. He coached baseball and bowling and enjoyed golfing and camping. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Galesburg, Ill. The Revs. Paul Newhall and David Parker will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Ill. Burial will be in Oneida Cemetery in Oneida, Ill. Memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church in Galesburg, Ill.; First Presbyterian Church in Galesburg, Ill.; the American Diabetes Association; or the American Heart Association.
