Don passed over to be with his heavenly father after a courageous battle with Alzheimers while in the arms of his wife with family at his side. He was born to Chester and Ruby Baker in Hutchinson Kansas. He leaves behind his loving wife, Pat of 45 years; six children, Cathy (Duke), Paul (Dori), Donnie (Julie), Donna (Kevin), Chuck (Laurie) and Joyce; 18 grandchildren, Jason, Chris, Jonathan, Danielle, Jessica, Alison, Jenna, Rodger, Mike, Heather, Meghan (Jerode), Charles Jr. (Kim), Greg (Breanna), Joey, Brian, Jonathan, Gary and Carolyn. He also leaves behind mother-in-law, Eleanor Smith; brother-in-law, Robert Smith; and sister-in-law, Ginger Cameron, of Norwalk, California; brothers-in-law, Pete Peterson, of Tacoma, WA, and Freddie Peterson, of Dubois, Wyoming; a number of nieces and nephews and a great-grandson due in December. Very special people in his life Alan Wilder, Tarah (Steve) Pulliam. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Roy Smith; parents, Chester and Ruby; sisters, Shirley and Eileen; brother, Chester; long time boyhood friend, Kent Childers; and his beloved white Pom, Snoopy who went everywhere with him. He was a longtime machinist by trade, but loved to try different things. After 20 yrs he retired from Sundstrand Data Control in Redmond as a Tracer Specialist. He loved living on Camano Island and working the land. He loved golf, hunting, fishing, camping, and riding his Goldwing. He was a member of St Cecilia's Catholic Church and a 4th degree Knight. Mass will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at St. Cecilia's 26900 78th Ave. NW Stanwood, WA reception to follow.
