A 25-year-old North Syracuse man dove to his death Wednesday morning from an eighth-floor window in Weiskotten Hall at Upstate Medical Center, police said. According to police, the victim, Donald Kirkpatrick of 202 David Drive, had been under treatment for a previous suicide attempt. Fitzpatrick [Kirkpatrick], police said, slashed his writs Wednesday before throwing a fire extinguisher through a solarium window and then plunging to the driveway below at about 10 a.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the county medical examiner's office. the exact cause of death was undermined, pending an autopsy.

Kirkpatrick, 25, of 202 David Drive, North Syracuse, who jumped to his death Wednesday from an eighth floor window at Upstate Medical Center, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in May Memorial Unitarian Society. Burial arrangements were incomplete. There will be no calling hours. Kirkpatrick was studying at Syracuse University and Onondaga Community College. He was a life resident of Syracuse and a member of May Memorial Unitarian Society. Surviving are his parents, George and Muriel Barry Kirkpatrick, and two brothers, Alan G. and James J., both of North Syracuse. Contributions may be made to May memorial Unitarian Society. Arrangements are by Greenleaf Funeral Home, 503 W. Onondaga St.
