Posted at findagrave.com: Sandra Kirkpatrick was born August 21, 1936, in Chester County, South Carolina, to Haskell McGill and Sudie Mae Kirkpatrick. In 1954, she graduated from Great Falls High School, and four years later from Winthrop College. Mrs. Howe taught for more than twenty years at Papillion-LaVista High School in Papillion, Nebraska. Teaching was her love, and she always strived to make a difference in the lives of her students. Sandra Howe was a member of Mt. Dearborn United Methodist Church in Great Falls and St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Papillion. Her greatest joy was her family. She devoted herself to her husband and children, and in later years, to the care of her parents. She delighted in being "Mei-Mei" to her grandchildren and cherished the time spent together with them. Sandra was always positive, and her kindness toward all was exceeded only by her knack of seeing good in all people. Sandra Howe died Friday, February 21, 2014, at her home in Great Falls, South Carolina. She is survived by her husband, James O. Howe, Jr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jamey (Alison) Howe of Great Falls, SC and David (Sarah) Howe of Camisano, Italy; four grandchildren: Haley, Elizabeth, Michael, and Hunter Howe; one brother and sister-in-law Haskell (Gwen)Kirkpatrick, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara (Herbert) Muller of Dallas, Texas. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the nurses and staff of Medi Home Hospice who helped make her final days peaceful. Funeral services to be held at 11 am Monday, March 3, 2014 at Mt. Dearborn United Methodist Church, with Rev. David Ussery officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday, March 2, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul United Methodist Church Organ Fund, 324 South Jackson, Papillion, NE 68046 or to Mt. Dearborn United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 246, Great Falls, SC 29055.
