Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born June 20, 1925 in Rock Hill, SC to the late Ernest and Etta Williams Adams. She greatly loved her family and enjoyed watching them grow up to become such nice and loving people.

She graduated Rock Hill High School in 1942, and worked with The Evening Herald as Classified/Advertising Manager. She later joined the Fort Mill Police Department where she worked as Dispatcher and Policewoman for 13 years and then with Public Safety at Winthrop University for 12 years and retired as Chief of Security in 1983.

Her passion was being on the Lake and enjoyed water skiing in her early years. Cross stitching and crafts were her hobbies, giving so many pieces away to friends and family. She always wanted to be remembered as a "giving person," with her time and money. She lived up to her High School Superlative -"She believes in sharing her wealth, she shares her fun with everyone." She was an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Fort Mill where she belonged to the Morning Glory Circle and John Pettus Sunday school class. She served as U.M.W. President for several years and on various committees in the church. She also received a lifetime membership pin. She was the widow of William Gaither Kirkpatrick, Jr.

She is survived by her son, W.G. Kirkpatrick, III; her daughter, Janice K. Patterson and husband, Ray "Zeke"; two granddaughters, Laura Kirkpatrick Proctor and husband, Shawn, and Jennifer Lea Patterson; and two great-granddaughter, Isabella Grace Proctor and Mariella Rose Proctor.
