Independent Tribune, Concord, Kannapolis North Carolina, Friday, March 1, 2013: Alisbury---Caroline Kirkpatrick Wagoner, 71 of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at the Laurels of Salisbury. Born, in Salisbury, Sept. 7, 1941, she was the daughter to the late Edith Holland and Clarence Hafner Kirkpatrick. She graduated from Cleveland High School and earned her teaching degree from Catawba College. She taught first and second grades for more than 30 years, teaching in Cabarrus and Rowan Countys at Winecoff, Hurley, Morgan, and Mt Ulla schools. Caroline was a charter member of Milford Hills United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for 10 years and was a Sunday School teacher for 25 years. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry Dean Wagoner;and two daughters, Donna M. Wagoner, and Lori W. Simmerson and husband Michael, all of Salisbury;two brothers, William S. Kirkpatrick, and George Kirkpatrick, both of Salisbury;and grandchildren, Seth, Carson, and Aiden Simmerson. A visitation will be held Saturday, march 2, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Milford Hills United Methodist Church, with funeral services following at 2 p.m. in the church. Burial will follow services at Rowan Memorial Park.
