Starkville Daily News, Starkville, Mississippi, Monday, June 13, 2011: JACKSON - Judith Ann Kirkpatrick died June 11, 2011, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was born in Brookhaven April 21, 1935, to Louie Lamar Entrican and Mildred Day Entrican. She spent her adult life in Starkville and in Jackson, where she was the librarian at Jackson Academy. Funeral services will be conducted at Northminster Baptist Church at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15. Dr. Charles Poole, pastor of Northminster, of which Judy was a member, will officiate. her burial will follow in Brookhaven at Hawkins Chapel Methodist Church after the service. The family will receive friends at the church from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14. Judy graduated from Mississippi State College for Women in 1957. During her professional career she served as associate university archivist at Mississippi State university from 1967 through 1974 and later worked in the Mississippi State Legislature. For 34 years she has been the librarian at Jackson Academy, where she led the development of the present collection and the design of the new library. Additionally, she worked with Luke Lampton, a former student, in curating the Kirkpatrick-Lampton collection of first editions of Mississippi authors housed in the Kirkpatrick-Lampton Room of the library. On her retirement she was given the title Librarian Emeritus at Jackson Academy. In 1957 Judy married Tom Frank Kirkpatrick, who survives. She leaves a daughter, Carrie Ann Stallings, and husband, Alan E. Stallings, Jr., and a son, Tom F. Kirkpatrick, Jr. She also leaves three grandchildren, Ann Walt Stallings, Elizabeth Indie Kirkpatrick and Mallory Day Kirkpatrick; a sister, Jennifer E. Watson; and a brother, Louie L. Entrican, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Capt. Daniel Day Entrican, and her grandson, Alan E. Stallings, III. Memorials may be sent to Northminster Baptist Church, Pastor's Discretionary Fund, 3955 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211, to Kirkpatrick-Lampton Collection, Jackson Academy, 4908 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
